My funniest childhood memory...#Blogtober14 Day 14

I have so many childhood memories...lots and lots of them, but I couldn't think of one as I sat down at my laptop this morning. So I picked up my phone and asked Jason (my little brother) what his was, and he was quick to fire off a few.

Jason and I, many moons ago, how cute!!!
His funniest childhood memory is this: It was a hot summers day and we were playing in the garden, Jason was probably about 4, I had gone into the house for a short while, not long after I was inside, Jason came running into the house screaming and crying, we asked him what happened? He told us a spider bit him. So we asked him to show us which spider where...He took us outside, climbed on top of the electricity reader box and pointed at the electric fencing above the palisade fencing. He had touched the electric fence and it shocked him, he got such a fright, shame hahaha it was hilarious!!

My funniest childhood memory is of the evening we spent at my aunts farm, there was a sand road that ran along the one side of the property, the farm workers walked this road to go home. We would lay a rubber snake in the grass across the road, it was tied to a piece of clear gut, we would hide on top of the roof of the house, and when people came walking past we would gently tug the gut and the snake would come slithering out of the grass. The people that were walking would get such a fright and run away screaming, it was so funny! We got up to so much mischief on that farm, broken bones, skinless knees and bloody noses, farm life at it's best I guess!! Another favourite is the day Jason told my mom his friend Zebo was going to live with us, and so "Zebo", his imaginary friend lived with us for a few months, until he got "hit by a car" according to Jason. Zebo had his own place and plate at the dinner table, his own spot on the couch and he also had to get clothes etc...

My fondest childhood memory is a recurring one...every evening when it was bedtime, my dad would carry me to bed, I would either sit on his shoulders and yell "Duck duck!!" as we went through the doorways (he is really tall), or I would sit on his foot while he walked to the room. He would then tuck me into bed and sing our good-night song. I am sure this is where my love for peanut butter originated.

It goes like this (No laughing allowed!!):
"Peanut sitting on the railway line,
his heart was all a flutter.
The railway train came down the line,
  Choo choo, peanut butter!"

Then I would laugh and often he would have to sing the song again, before I went to sleep.
I will definitely be singing this bedtime song to our children one day!

What's your favourite childhood memory??

    1. It was awesome, we also used to leave it in a suitcase in the middle of the road, but someone (my cousin) had to hide in the grass and that didn't go well for her, LOL
